MAC's hottest look this summer happens to
be....gasp!...Neon!
Does the new Neo Sci-Fi cosmetics line
feature colors you might have seen in your
brother's old science fiction comic books?
Not exactly, but some of these colors are
prbably not what you would wear to work,
like the eyeliners, nail laquers and perhaps
a few of the lipsticks. If thats the case
save it for night or fun weekends. I think
their colors are a bit daring and fun. Even
the packaging is fun,its bright orange.
Remember that all these colors in this line
are limited edtion,so hurry!
What's all in the line? Lipstick,Lipglass,Eye
Shadow,Plush Lash,Powder Blush,Cremestick Liner,
and Nail Laquer. Check out all the colors above
by clicking on the link.
This lipstick(Electro is the color)is
such like a bright punch just in time for the
summer, which is probably also why its a limited
edition. Other colors include the reddish toned
Sci-Fi-Delity,just peachy Pleasureseeker,
get dow with brown Astral and golded white
Sunsonic
Now the Lipglass is much more appropriate for
work or day casual since they are more dark
neutrals. You've got some choices:pinkish
orange-(shown) Pink Grapefruit,toned
down peach Naked Space, brown with bronze
Supreme,plum-ish purple Soft and
Slow
A mix of vixen and fairy, these eyeshadows are
a little bit of everything. Show here is a
golden coppery Time and Space,brownish
black Magnetic Fields,golden frost
Femme-Fi,pretty pink Expensive Pink,
just plain peachy Evening Aura
Only in two colors,Spaced Out,the glittery
peach shown here, these are probably the funnest
blushes ever. X-Rocks is the other purple
based mauve,but its not scary.
Best for last, the nail lacquer reminds me of Crayola's
markers and crayons. Its got the most vibrant colors of
the whole line. Phosphor is the sunny yellow shown.
Neon 8 orange,Plasma Blue, bright blue(you
heard that right!),and a more neutral shade of cream
Metalist.
What does everyone think?

One of my favorite summer treats is a ice cold glass
of pink lemonade, lemonade is great but pink lemonade
is extra special.
Philosophy thinks so too, and thats why they
created the new Pink Lemonade scented gift set.
The set includes bubble bath/shower gel, body
butter and lip shine gloss, and it make a great
gift for almost anyone.
I think it reminds me of childhood summer days
drinking pink lemonade Kool-Aid.

If you're like me,you want to to simple. You also want to
mix causal with elegant and a tad bit funky. I have the
perfect combination,Michael Stars tees and fresh accessories.
You can buy Michael Stars tees on the webstore and Nordstrom.
Okay you can find stylish tees elsewhere but you should
invest in a few Michael Stars tees.
They have a nice selection of tees, tanks, and multitudes
of sleeve lenghts. They also have lots of pretty colored
tees. They also have pretty printed and tie-dye tees. If
you're looking for screen tees with sayings or pictures,
look elsewhere. If your looking for basic yet stylish
comfort, look no further than Michael Stars.
Did you know they also have maternity tees?
Short Sleeve Scoop Neck Tee
Suplima Short Sleeve Tee
Lace Babydoll Cami
Another thing to love about these tee shirts is that because
they are so simple,it makes it easier to accessorize. Try gold
or silver jewelry(but remember to choose one or the other, don't
wear gold and silver together). Or maybe a colorful scarf.
Nordstrom has the best accessory selection to choose from.
What is your perfect combination of style?

I am very sure you know of Patrick Dempsey(aka McDreamy on
Grey's Anatomy),but have you heard of his wife Jillian
Dempsey? She's a makeup artist and Avon's creative director
who has created a fantastic line of cosmetics for Avon.
Its called Jillian Dempsey for Avon Professional Collection, and its high quality cosmetics.
She's got three products so far that will be available soon at
Avon:Eyeshadow Trio,Kohl Eyeliner with Smudger,and Lash
Professional Mascara.
This three-in-one eyeshadow kit features one cream
shadow and 2 powder shadows in dark and light browns,
so you can countour and define your eyes.
This is genius because its got two brushes on either
ends, the larger brush is for upper lashes, and a
smaller brush for lower lashes.
This is pencil eyeliner that has a built-in smudger that
makes sexy eyes even sexier.

Whar does the word Euphoria mean exactly? Joy,excitment,
and all positive feelings. Like the feeling you get when
your favorite wins American Idol,or when you got your
rebate from the IRS. But those are only seasonal,so what
do you when you run out of excuses to feel happy? Wear
Calvin Klein's Euphoria for her,
featuring lovely notes of amber,orchid,lotus,violet,
fresh green grass,champacce and mahogany.
And if thats not enough,I think is bottle is very cute,
if in kind of a modern space age type thing. And Euphoria
really does live to its name!
What do you think? Leave a response, please.

Before you read this, just know that I am talking about
hair removal from the body, not the scalp
(sorry Britney Spears!).
Before you even think of getting to the beach, pool or
just going out in shorts, you have got to shave your legs
(and armpits). Maybe you are lucky enough to hardly have
a hair problem or maybe you wear jeans all in the winter
but now that its summer you should shave or at least find
another method of hair removal. There are several methods
of hair removal that I will discuss here:shaving, depilatory,
waxing and do it yourself high tech methods such as No!No.
All methods have good points and bad points. How do you know
which method is for you? Read this guide or try everything
until you find something that works for you. Let's get
started!
Reminder:Most of the stuff you find here you can purchase
at a drugstore or
mass market chain like Target.
Shaving-This is probably the first hair removal method
you learned, and while it works it can be painful and never ending.
There are two types of razors, electric and plastic. Electric gives
a closer shave, doesn't cut and often can be used in and out of
water. Plastic razors come in either disposible or you can buy
a razor and replace the blades, which is often more expensive
than disposible razors. Unfortunatly hair starts to grow back
at least 1 or 2 days after.
In the shower make sure you coat your legs with a shaving gel
(like Skintimate) and then shave in the opposite direction
where your hair grows. When you're done, dry off your legs and
rub on a soothing lotion(like Lubriderm). If you are using an
electric, then you can skip the gel but when you are done go
ahead and smooth on lotion. If you are shaving your armpits
follow the same instructions but skip the lotion.
Women's Remington Shaver
Gillette Venus Divine Women's Razor
Depilatories-Depilatories are creams and foams that
have hair removing chemicals like thioglycolate that work
by removing the keratins that bind the hair,so it becomes
loose and makes if easy to wash off. Nair and Veet are
commonly used depilatories. Its easy to use and the
results last longer than shaving,at least 2 days longer.
Follow the instructions. Remember to do a test before you
use any product to make sure that you don't have an allergic
reaction to the chemical.Usually you just rub the lotion of
foam on skin and wait at least 10 minutes before washing.
If your skin feels a tad tingly, its probably nothing to
worry about, but if you feel more a burn wash it off
immediatly.
Nair Sensitive
Sally Hansen Spray On Shower Off
Waxing-Waxing is painful, but it gives fantastic
results. So if you can deal with the pain and have the
time, then wax away! Waxing works by pulling out the hairs
from below the surface which would explain why results
last longer. You can wax almost anywhere including the
upper lip and bikini line, however if you're not comfortable
with waxing yourself but want the results, then go to a
salon for a professional wax.
Again follow the instructions(I cannot stress this enough!),
and be sure to to a test on the wax kit. Most waxes you heat
up in the microwave, then once heated you can spread on with
a wooden(or plastic) stick, place a paper strip and press good,
then you slowly peel off the strip. Ouch! But look at the strip
and check out the long hairs you just removed. Isn't that worth
it?
Bliss Poetic Waxing Kit
Sally Hansen No Heat Gel Wax Strips
High-Tech At Home Method
Do you want electrolosis but don't want to pay the high price?
Do it yourself with an at-home electrolosis,or No!No!. No!No! works with thermal electronic
technology.
Do you have any advice or stories you would like to share?

This is not only Works For Me Wednesday, this is
also my 2nd post on my Summer Countdown.
Check out Shannon's blog/WFMW
Tanning is in,and probably will always be. However as
I said over and over baking out in the sun will do you
no good. Sure it will make you darker, but it will also
put you at risk for diseases and aging which is soooo
not glamourous. The good news is that there are a ton
of products for both your body and face, they can come
in creams, wipes, sprays and a lot more. I hope this will
help you find what is best for you.
Basically there are two types, tanning and bronzing.
Tanning achieves a darker, richer color and usually is
found with other skincare items including sunscreen
(see below). Bronzing is more light, has a tendency to
come in powder forms and is usually found in the cosmetics
aisle. Both often contain SPF which is an added bonus.
How To Tan The Right Way
First off, make sure that you exfoilate in the shower.
Use a loofah and a great body scrub. Shave your legs
and armpits. When you're out towel dry yourself and then
get dressed in dark clothes like a dark tank or tube top
and shorts. Make sure you wear something you can risk
getting stained, because it happens. Have your tanning
lotion and a good hand scrub for when your done. Follow
the directions of the tube or bottle, and blend it in well.
Be careful to distribute it evenly because a lot of tanners
don't show up until two hours after the application. Even
if you use a instant tanning lotion you still want to watch
how you distribute it.
Wait according to the instructions to change into your
clothes. Make sure its dry,and depending on the product
you are using, wait at least 12 to 24 hours to shower. When
you are dry use hand scurb and exfoliate your hands, don't
exfoliant too much as you should leave a little color,at
least in the back of your hands. Your tan should last at
least five days depending on your exfoliant.
Bronzing The Right Way
Depending on the type of your bronzer you are using,
follow the instructions. If it is bronzing powder use it
like you would any powder. Start out with a little powder
or lotion and evenly cover your face. If you're using a
more tanning cream you will most likely follow the same
instructions as above.
Sircuit Soliel-Looking similar to a chocolate dessert this
bronzing cream not only tans,it tightens your skin. Its
perfect for summer.
Loreal Sublime Bronze-True to its name its also very simple to
use. This formula dries fast and is perfect for begginers.
Decleor Aroma Sun-This is truly genius! It hyrdrates,
contains SPF and helps you look tan all in one.
Physicians Formula Les Botaniques Botanical Powder-
It looks kind of like a piece of artwork, but its a great
bronzer for your face because its so easy to use.
ID Bare Minerals Warmth All Over Powder-This powder give a
luminous finish in additon to a natural bronze.

Summer Countdown-
Its May,and summer is almost here! Which means a few things,
swimsuits, self tanning, summer beauty and more! I am starting
my summer countdown and throughout the month I will be
featuring the guides to looking and dressing your best. I
will start out today with Sun Safety because you've got to
protect yourself from the sunny skies.
SPF Guide-
Why? Sun exposure causes premature aging and skin cancer.
Protect your skin now.
How? Wear suncreen or lotions with SPF(Sun Protection
Factor) of at least 15,but the higher the better. For more
information check out my previous post. Most sunscreens
come in a cream form, but it can also be found in sprays and
other forms.
Wear a sunscreen everyday even in the winter, just
follow the instructions of the product. Be careful when you
choose one for your face, and whatever you do,try not to get
it in your eyes. If you wear a SPF moisturizer/makeup for
your face, try to find something tinted so you don't layer
too much products on your face and cause breakouts.
If you cannot live without makeup, try
SPF Mineral Makeup
What Works? SPF is everywhere! Sunscreens, lip
balms and moisturizers can all have sun protection, and
now your whole skincare routine can help protect you.
DDF Organic Sunblock SPF 30
This sunscreen is great for those with extra sensitve
skin. And what I really love about this? Its SPF 30!
Bliss Superbalm Lip Conditioner SPF 15
You may not think that your lips need SPF,but if they
are exposed to sun then yes they do. This moisturizes and
protects!
Kiehl's Abyssine Cream SPF 23
Who knew that skincare could be sourced from the
abyss? This is! And if you like this you will like the
other products from the abyssine line fro Kiehl's.
Benefit YouRebel SPF 15
This is a genius tinted moisturizer that will carry you from
summer to winter looking uber-glam
Got any SPF tips or products you would like to share?

Scent-sational Sunday-Looks Like An Apple,Smells Like An Apple
2 comments Posted by shopinchic at 10:02 PM
Nine Ricci Nina is a really cute apple shaped bottle,
thats the first thing that caught my attention. Surprisingly
it does smell of apple(thanks to the notes of Red Toffe Apple
and Apple Tree Wood)but it also has variety of fruity smells
interlacing with the apple but it won't make feel you like
you're a walking fruit stand. Its a refreshing and energizing
scent that also includes notes of Calabrese lemon,Cipirhna lime,
Vanilla,Moonflower,Peony and Cotton musk. So free and feminine.
What do you think?

I am always willing to try a new or different liquid
makeup, even if I am currently satisfied with one like
Cover Girl foundations. But today I tried the new
Maybelline Mineral Powerwith Micro Minerals foundation in medium pure beige. It was medium number 2.
At first I wasn't so sure but I think we have a winner.
I was a little worried about the color being a bit
too dark simply because I am pale but I do have a
slight tan. But I blended it as I always do,and it
managed to look much better than I thought. If it
didn't have my approval I wouldn't be writing about
it on this blog.
What do I like best about this foundation? Well it
has SPF 18,its naturally breathable and it doens't
clog pores! What's not to like? If you're looking
for a new foundation, foundation with sun protection
or just want to experiement with something good,I
would definitly reccomend this.
Have you tried any new cosmetics you cannot stop
raving? Leave a comment.

One of my favorite things to do when I am not online,
shopping or whatever my hobbies are,I do read. Like
a lot of blogs I am going to do book reviews, but
instead of fiction,I will list the books that you
need as a reference to look your best. After all
thats what this blog is all about. So here is the
list of books that every single one of you fashionistas
need and why. All these books are available at Amazon.
Dress Your Best:The Complete Guide to Finding
the Style That's Right For Your Body
by Clinton Kelly and Stacy London
You many already know them as co-hosts on TLC's
What Not To Wear, but they did write a book
about what to wear! This book has sections for
women and men(lend it to your boyfriend or husband,
he will thank you!),dividing them into certain body
types and they give you general rules as what to wear.
This book is a general guide and features everyday
people as models, not to mention advice without the
sugarcoating. Its a great book that helps you figure
out what works and will hopefully minimize you apparel
returns to stores.
The Lucky Shopping Manual:Building And Improving
Your Wardrobe Piece By Piece
by Andrea Linnet and Kim France
This is the book for faithful Lucky magazine
readers. Unlike Dress Your Bestthis book goes
by certain items like dresses or pants telling you
what is a must and even has a section on the classics
every woman needs. It also gives advice on where to
shop for certain items, when to splurge and when you
don't have to. Its also kind of like a special edition
of the magazine just for fashion, with "Lucky Girl"
profiles featuring known fashionistas, and tells you
about awesome boutiques all over the USA. This book
is a must have for those who are serious of shopping.
Style A to Zoe:The Art of Fashion,Beauty, and Everything Glamour
by Rachel Zoe and Rose Apodaca
Want to look as good as a celebrity? Famous celebrity
stylist Rachel Zoe wrote this book just for you. She
tells you everything you want to know about celebrity
style including fashion,traveling in style,decorating
and entertaining. She also tells you how to define
your own personal style, and how to incorporate
glamourous celebrities and vintage influences with
flair. She even offers extra advice with the help
of the her friends including Donatella Versace.
You don't need to be a star to live like one.
Just Try It On:A Month-By-Month To Shopping and Style
by Susan Redstone
This is the only guide that gives you a schedule
to when the latest and greatest selections are
available for sale, meaning you can buy summer
apparel when its fresh and not picked over. You
also get the inside scoop on when things start
to go on sale. This book also gives you the insight
that only fashion stylists know,so you won't be
left out on valuable info to make shopping
easier and fun. Not only that, but you'll find
out how to give wonderful gifts, cheap fashion
finds and everything else you wish you knew

TeenPeople Celebrity Style Guide
Editors of TeenPeople
Now,here's a book I recommend for teen readers
(I know you're out there). This books combines
two things almost all teens love, style and stars.
Find out what they wear, how they wear it and
how to dress great for your own body type. They
give you quizzes, lists, and a ton of tips. Find
out where to buy similar fashions without ticking
off your parents by maxing out their card. It
also tells you how to dress for your shape so you
learn what works for you. Even if you're not
a teen girl, but know one,buy this book for her.
Are there any books I forgot to mention? Or maybe you
would like to add a book, leave a message.
