Lip gloss is a must in my makeup bag, particularly lip gloss
that plumps up your lips. Unfortunately that usually means
a colored gloss that leaves a slight tingly sting on your
lips, but that is so not the case with Big Bang Illusion
Gloss by Lipstick Queen. This formula is made up of tiny
particles of shimmer that work as an illusion of plumper
lips.
Absolutely amazing!
This lip gloss comes in eight luscious shades-each with a
cosmic inspired name. My favorite shades are Black Hole,
Energy, Infinite, and Expansion-as these
shades of red and pink seem to be universally flattering. I'm
not too sure about Time as the color seems to be a little
too gold to be worn on lips. Look at the color chart below-click
photo to enlarge.
Big Bang Illusion Gloss by Lipstick Queen- available at
SpaceNK(both USA and UK websites).

Remember how I recently raved about Schick Intuition Plus?
I still love it, but now that I tried the new Gillette Venus
Embrace, I've gotta say that it would be a tough call to say
which one I would recommend more.
First off, Gillette Venus Embrace has five blades instead of four.
And even though this one does not have a skin conditioning solid,
it does feature moisture ribbons on either side of the blades that
help give you a smoother shave. And you still need to use shaving
gel. The handle has a soft grip which makes it easier to glide
across your legs and prevent nicks and cuts. It also comes with
a cute little showerpod that you can stick on the wall to make
it even easier.
All in all, I am very pleased with Gillette Venus Embrace. You
get a closer shave, a little extra moisture(thanks to the ribbons),
and no cuts. I can definitely see why it's the Number 1 Female
Shaving Brand in the World
You can buy Gillete Venus Embrace at Walgreens and Boots.

A year ago, I started Shop In Chic. I started it because I
wanted to start a fashion magazine. I've always dreamed of
starting my own magazine that was simply style, beauty, and
a little culture. I wanted to create a monthly publication
that showed fashion as something attainable, regardless of
the high-end or low-end price tag. I love the fantasy of it
all, but I also like to find clothes that really work for me.
I want to help readers find cute clothes and a great sense of
style. I also enjoy testing beauty products of all sorts, and
I love to share what works for me.
Right now, my dream of launching a style magazine is far in
the future. In the mean time, Shop In Chic is kind of like
the magazine I always wanted to create.
To celebrate my blog's first anniversary, I am linking my
favorite posts from Feb 2008 to Feb 2009. To make it much
easier, I have the posts grouped by label/topic. Enjoy:)

What: Why not take a Friday or Saturday night
off and pamper yourself? And why not invite your pals
over , because a beauty party is not as nearly as fun
without friends.
Plan: Make a list of your friends that you want
to invite and send out the invitations at least a week
or two in advance. Check out Evite.
Décor: Fix up separate areas of your home for
certain beauty activities: like facials in the kitchen,
makeup in the living room, and manicures/pedicures in
the dining room. Designate certain spots so it seems
like a real spa/ or salon.
Food/Drink: Since it’s a spa theme, you might
want to stick with healthy food. Ideas include wrap
sandwiches, tasty smoothies, crudités, popcorn, pita
chips and guacamole(or salsa). You could also try the
indulgent route and serve candy. A clever idea? Serve
elegantly wrapped candies(or heck my fave Hershey
Miniatures) in glass bowls, so your guests can serve
themselves!
Spa Treats: Stop by your local beauty or drugstore
and stock up on facials, makeup, perfume, nail polish and
more. Or, you can buy a few items, and ask each of your
friends to buy some extra items. That way everyone spends
a little, and its not all on you. You can even stock up
on gift bags and stuff them with fun little beauty products
and give them to each guest as a farewell gift(kind of like
the swag bags celebrities get.
Another thrifty idea is to even make some of your own beauty
products either before or during the party. But remember to
test out the recipes before you even make them to see if they
really work as well as they should. Its also a good idea to
test them out for allergy purposes. But if you(or any of your
friends) have any food allergy of an sorts, it might be best
to skip this idea. If you decide to go the do-it-yourself
route, read up on it. All books are available at Amazon.

Economically Stylish- 10 Ways To Glam Up Your Look For Less
1 comments Posted by shopinchic at 6:24 PM
Okay, so we are definitely not socialites or celebrities
who practically go out to parties on a daily basis. We don’t
have hair stylists, make up artists and fashion consultants
making sure that we look all out gorgeous everywhere we go,
including the most mundane events such as…ahem…..taking out
the trash. We don’t have money nor the time to splurge on
blowouts or manicures on a weekly basis. What we do have are
ideas to make you look and feel like an A-List Star. Use these
ideas anytime, anywhere, and even for just mundane events like
taking out the trash. Enjoy!
1-Just Glow: Mix a little bronzer with your moisturizer and
rub into your skin for a natural glow. Works for both face and
body.
Try Nivea Body Pure Moisture Daily Lotion, L’Oreal Sublime Bronze
2-Define Your Cheekbones: Start with a dark shade of blush below
your cheekbones and blend upward. Then use a lighter shade of blush
on the apples of your cheeks.
Try Dainty Doll by Nicola Roberts* or Cover Girl Instant Cheekbones
3-Let Your Eyes Do The Talking: Start with a shade of brown
eyeshadow, then use eyeliner to draw from your inner eyelid corner to
your outer eyelid, then draw just a little past that in a more upward
stroke for the cat eye effect. Add bold false lashes if you dare!
Try Bourjois Suivez Mon Regard Eyeshadow in Ambre 07 and Liner
Clubbing in Absolute Black
4-Bring Out Your Eye Color: If you have blue eyes, use a soft
blue eye shadow and black eyeliner. If you have brown eyes, use dark
browns and lavenders. If you have green eyes, then try soft colors
such as sand, or a green shade.
Try Almay Intense-I Color Eyeshadow Trio
5-Pluck Your Eyebrows: Or have a professional do it.
Try Tweezerman Tweezers
6-Try Pastel Colors: Try a baby pink blush or lipstick. Or
maybe a light blue eye shadow. Stick with one color at a time
though.
Try E.L.F's Luscious Liquid Lipstick in Bark
7-Get A Cherry Red Pout: Simply trace just the edge of your
lips with a bright red lip liner, then color it in with vivid red
lip color in the same shade. Viola! Juicy red lips.
Try L'Oreal Colour Riche Lipstick in British Red
8-Make A New Blush: Take an older powder blush and mix it
with Vaseline and blend it in for a softer effect of a cream blush.
Try Rimmel London Cheeky Blush Duo or Maybelline Expert Wear
Blush Duo
9-Nourish Your Hair: Buy a premium hair masque and condition
your hair once a week.
Try Pantene Pro-V Smooth and Sleek Masque
10-Try A Side Part: Comb a side part. So easy, even the
celebrities are doing it!

In case you haven't noticed,I changed my blog layout.I was having quite of bit of trouble with the HTML,but I want to give a big thank you to my sister Sarah(The Artful Frog) for helping me with advice and getting my header banner up there. What do you think? I think its marvelous!
Anyways I am still revamping my blog,so bear with the
changes.

I really like Clairol's Herbal Essences line of shampoos,
conditioners and styling products(even though I am much
less enthusiastic about their hair color kits). So I just
tried Suave Naturals haircare products, specifically the
shampoo(Juicy Green Apple)and conditioner(Tropical
Coconut),and the verdict is in......I really like it!
I just used some hair products from VO5,and I wasn't too
impressed. The conditioner was watery and the shampoo
doesn't really soften my hair(which I could really use
since I have my hair bleached. But Suave's products not
only smelled like paradise they make my hair look and
feel like hair should:soft and fluffy.
Suave Naturals also come in a variety of scents including
Ocean Breeze,Fresh Mountain Strawberry,Cucumber Melon
Splash,Refreshing Tangerine,Vanilla Floral and more.
Check out their website for more!
P.S.
I am revamping up my blog so bear with me.

Sometimes are biggest problems have a brilliant and easy
solution thats takes awhile to discover. And that when
we do discover it we think,"How did I ever live without
this miracle product?". It happens to the best of us
and it eventually happens to all of us.
Once its discovered it becomes a must have item,a
favorite even. Then you tell all your friends about
it and they use it. Then they go bragging about it.
And before you know it you've started a fan club
and soon it becomes a "cult" item if you know what
I mean.
Kinerase Instant Radiance Facial Peels are just that.
Not only does it exfoiliate,it contains lactic acids and
natural extracts so that its not so harsh on the skin.
Many facial peels are a bit rough on the skin, but not
this.It doesn't even sting. Use this daily for five
days then take a break of at least two weeks before
the next application.
Its also easy to use, after you regularly wash your
face, just use the swab-like applicator and apply the
solution over your face, but don't rinse it off. This
is the one facial peel you don't rinse off.
What's a product you can't live without?

MAC's hottest look this summer happens to
be....gasp!...Neon!
Does the new Neo Sci-Fi cosmetics line
feature colors you might have seen in your
brother's old science fiction comic books?
Not exactly, but some of these colors are
prbably not what you would wear to work,
like the eyeliners, nail laquers and perhaps
a few of the lipsticks. If thats the case
save it for night or fun weekends. I think
their colors are a bit daring and fun. Even
the packaging is fun,its bright orange.
Remember that all these colors in this line
are limited edtion,so hurry!
What's all in the line? Lipstick,Lipglass,Eye
Shadow,Plush Lash,Powder Blush,Cremestick Liner,
and Nail Laquer. Check out all the colors above
by clicking on the link.
This lipstick(Electro is the color)is
such like a bright punch just in time for the
summer, which is probably also why its a limited
edition. Other colors include the reddish toned
Sci-Fi-Delity,just peachy Pleasureseeker,
get dow with brown Astral and golded white
Sunsonic
Now the Lipglass is much more appropriate for
work or day casual since they are more dark
neutrals. You've got some choices:pinkish
orange-(shown) Pink Grapefruit,toned
down peach Naked Space, brown with bronze
Supreme,plum-ish purple Soft and
Slow
A mix of vixen and fairy, these eyeshadows are
a little bit of everything. Show here is a
golden coppery Time and Space,brownish
black Magnetic Fields,golden frost
Femme-Fi,pretty pink Expensive Pink,
just plain peachy Evening Aura
Only in two colors,Spaced Out,the glittery
peach shown here, these are probably the funnest
blushes ever. X-Rocks is the other purple
based mauve,but its not scary.
Best for last, the nail lacquer reminds me of Crayola's
markers and crayons. Its got the most vibrant colors of
the whole line. Phosphor is the sunny yellow shown.
Neon 8 orange,Plasma Blue, bright blue(you
heard that right!),and a more neutral shade of cream
Metalist.
What does everyone think?

I am very sure you know of Patrick Dempsey(aka McDreamy on
Grey's Anatomy),but have you heard of his wife Jillian
Dempsey? She's a makeup artist and Avon's creative director
who has created a fantastic line of cosmetics for Avon.
Its called Jillian Dempsey for Avon Professional Collection, and its high quality cosmetics.
She's got three products so far that will be available soon at
Avon:Eyeshadow Trio,Kohl Eyeliner with Smudger,and Lash
Professional Mascara.
This three-in-one eyeshadow kit features one cream
shadow and 2 powder shadows in dark and light browns,
so you can countour and define your eyes.
This is genius because its got two brushes on either
ends, the larger brush is for upper lashes, and a
smaller brush for lower lashes.
This is pencil eyeliner that has a built-in smudger that
makes sexy eyes even sexier.
Also on the Avon store site you can find

Summer Countdown-
Its May,and summer is almost here! Which means a few things,
swimsuits, self tanning, summer beauty and more! I am starting
my summer countdown and throughout the month I will be
featuring the guides to looking and dressing your best. I
will start out today with Sun Safety because you've got to
protect yourself from the sunny skies.
SPF Guide-
Why? Sun exposure causes premature aging and skin cancer.
Protect your skin now.
How? Wear suncreen or lotions with SPF(Sun Protection
Factor) of at least 15,but the higher the better. For more
information check out my previous post. Most sunscreens
come in a cream form, but it can also be found in sprays and
other forms.
Wear a sunscreen everyday even in the winter, just
follow the instructions of the product. Be careful when you
choose one for your face, and whatever you do,try not to get
it in your eyes. If you wear a SPF moisturizer/makeup for
your face, try to find something tinted so you don't layer
too much products on your face and cause breakouts.
If you cannot live without makeup, try
SPF Mineral Makeup
What Works? SPF is everywhere! Sunscreens, lip
balms and moisturizers can all have sun protection, and
now your whole skincare routine can help protect you.
DDF Organic Sunblock SPF 30
This sunscreen is great for those with extra sensitve
skin. And what I really love about this? Its SPF 30!
Bliss Superbalm Lip Conditioner SPF 15
You may not think that your lips need SPF,but if they
are exposed to sun then yes they do. This moisturizes and
protects!
Kiehl's Abyssine Cream SPF 23
Who knew that skincare could be sourced from the
abyss? This is! And if you like this you will like the
other products from the abyssine line fro Kiehl's.
Benefit YouRebel SPF 15
This is a genius tinted moisturizer that will carry you from
summer to winter looking uber-glam
Got any SPF tips or products you would like to share?
Coming up soon.....Self Tanning! Stay tuned!

Like every woman,I want to look my best. Like every human
sometimes I am pressed for time. What to do? Have a few
quick beauty tricks up your sleeve, and that makes all the
difference. On This Works For Me Wednesday I plan
on giving you some of my favorite beauty tricks of all time.
No Time for a Crest White Strip that takes about
half an hour?
I use a Q-Tip dabbed with a little baking soda and
and buff off the stains real quick and then brush my
teeth like regular. Finish with a little Listerine
mouth wash and you're ready to smile.
No time to go and buy these beauty items, but you
need something to use quick?
Body Scrub-Mix a little sugar and honey.
Shaving Cream-Use your hair conditioner.
You want a quick fix for a color boost?
Use sugar-free Kool-Aid! Seriously this one was
in a issue of some magazine. If you got blonde hair
use yellow, for red use cherry, and for dark hair use
purple or black cherry.
If you got any more tips that work for you, please
leave a comment. I look forward to reading your
comments!
